After Tucker Carlson aired footage from Jan. 6 showing Jacob Chansley, who came to be known as the “QAnon Shaman,” being escorted around the Capitol by police officers, he has been released 14 months early from prison.

Chansley, 35, pled guilty in September 2021 to civil disorder and violent entry to the Capitol and was sentenced to 41 months in federal prison.

However, Tucker Carlson recently released video footage from the Capitol on Jan. 6 that shows Chansley being peacefully escorted around inside the building by police officers, despite what the left-wing lawmakers wanted everyone to believe.

After viewing the footage, many people began to call for Chansley’s release from prison, including Tesla CEO Elon Musk, one of the voices with the largest audience in the world, who also questioned why Chancely was in prison.

Musk posted a clip of the Jan. 6 footage to Twitter, saying “Free Jacob Chansley.”

“I’m not part of MAGA, but I do believe in fairness of justice,” Musk also tweeted. “Chansley was falsely portrayed in the media as a violent criminal who tried to overthrow the state and who urged others to commit violence.”

Chansley’s attorney Albert Watkins demanded that he be released from jail after the Jan. 6 footage revealed the true nature of his client’s actions within the Capitol building. Just weeks later, Chansely was moved out of federal prison and into a halfway house.

According to the Bureau of Prison Records, Chansley is now in a Phoenix halfway house after serving under 27 months in prison. He is currently in the custody of the Residential Reentry Management field office.

In a statement to the Daily Mail, Watkins said, “After serving eleven months in solitary prior to his sentencing being imposed, and only 16 months of his sentence thereafter, it is appropriate this gentle and intelligent young man be permitted to move forward with the next stage of what undoubtedly will be a law-abiding and enriching life.”

“I applaud the decision of the US Bureau of Prison in this regard,” Watkins added.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene celebrated Chansley’s release on Twitter and said, “I hope he sues everyone that assassinated his character and lied about him.”
